The Best Coat Sale in NYC and Cure Fall Home & Fashion Event – October 9, 2010 NYC

TSC Comrade Sale Alert!  Two AMAZING thrifty events this Saturday, October 9, 2010, NYC Salvation Army 2010 Winter Coat Sale and The Cure Thrift Shop Fall Home & Fashion Event

First – the sale we’ve been waiting for!  The Salvation Army’s 2010 Winter Coat Sale

You Tell 'Em, Sister!

Line up early, kids!  I go “blow by blow” with advice on our post about this beautiful event (beauty is in the eye of the beholder) – I’m not sure what time the doors open, but people generally start lining up at around 8:30 a.m.  I don’t know what their price structure is like this year, but as a sample, last year I got my boyfriend a beautiful Valentino suede windbreaker for $5.  My leather maxi coat was $10, as was my Burberry trench (yes, I’m serious!)– they charge by length and material, but if you’re looking for a gorgeous fur, a military-style trench, a leather biker jacket or just a lovely warm coat, this is the place.  Ian & I will be there with bells on, so if you come out, do come introduce yourself!

Me'n Ian

Second – Race for the Cure! (Well, not a race, per se, but you at least better hurry if you want amazing values!)  From 11:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m., come to The Cure Thrift Shop for their Fall Home & Fashion Event and shop from the best donations that they’ve been saving all year! You’ll find the choicest picks of Designer & Vintage Clothing, Shoes, Accessories, Vintage & Antique Furniture, Collectibles, Jewelry, Art, Lamps, Pianos, Books, Records and more!  No admission fee and unbeatable prices! As always, all proceeds benefit the Diabetes Research Institute and the search for a CURE!!!

Also, from 10/4-10/7, The Cure Thrift Shop has a fabulous $1 SALE!  All clothing, shoes, bags, belts and ties are only a buck!

Happy Shopping!

hi, my name is Francois. I’m a father of 7 children. I became unemployed several months ago and in dire need of a XX Winter coat, I don’t know what to do at this point. Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your time.

Hi Francois, and thanks for writing. Unfortunately I don’t have the ability to set up direct donations, but if you live in the NYC area, contact the local Salvation Army or Goodwill store and speak with a manager; someone there should be able to either help you or direct you to someone who can. I wish you the best.
